& eccentric

Taking our handmade and specially hand-dyed grand staircase runner upstairs, we lead you past our resident taxidermy giraffe – George! George has a somewhat intriguing past and oversees everything that happens in the main hallway and landing!

As you pass George and the huge window overlooking the grounds to the upper floor, you’ll come across cherubs swinging from pendants as you make your way towards the suite of indulgent bedrooms leading on from the landing.

The pure decadence and attention to detail is clear to see here, with oversized mirrors reflecting shimmering chandeliers, original wooden flooring and an abundance of light beaming through windows at every angle.

The walls

have ears

As you reach the top of the landing, we’ve tucked away delicate conversation sofas in their own little hideaway, looking out over rolling countryside towards the coast at Beadnell Bay. This area is one of the best places to sit and enjoy the decadence of the hall and is where the sun beams through vast windows framed by beautiful indoor plants.

Watch out though… walls have ears and you may spot a monkey or two climbing the walls.  This secret little hideaway is lined with cheeky wallpaper from House of Hackney.
